London Fashion Week kicked off on Friday with a crisp, sunny day and some stand out looks. We headed out onto the beautiful streets of London to scout out the latest trends and check out what street style was on offer. Of course, we're biased, but we certainly know how to dress well here in London, with iconic red buses and phone boxes making the perfect backdrop for shooting some awesome street style looks. Here's our round-up of the key trends you need to be rocking right now - you're welcome.

MILITARY

From khaki green to camouflage print, military clothing was everywhere at London Fashion Week. Street style photographers kept warm in hooded parkas and field jackets, while fashion lovers opted for combat trousers as an alternative to jeans, styling them with anything from hoodies and trench coats to blazers and turtlenecks for a more refined look.

CHECKS

Following the revival of Prince Of Wales check last season, checks and plaid are going nowhere anytime soon. Clash textures with some velvet or leather trousers; take checks into spring with white jeans and a cute blouse or stand out from the grey check wearing crowd in a bold pink checked coat.

BUM BAGS

Mini bags and backpacks step aside, there's a new accessory in town! Seen first on the streets at New York Fashion Week, bum bags were all over the street style look of London Fashion Week too. From vintage leather bumbags and canvas Eastpak ones to designer belt bags from Gucci and Louis Vuitton, this trend is accessible to anyone, whatever your budget. Wear awkwardly around your waist over an oversized knit or blazer or rock it cross-body as many fashion week goers chose to do.

PUFFA JACKETS

With the recent cold snap we've been having here in London, it is no surprise that some fashionistas chose both warmth and style and rocked the puffa jacket like a pro. Style with some pyjama-style trousers and statement boots for a juxtaposed look or go all out on the sportswear vibe and layer over a sweatshirt or a hoodie.

SUITING

What better way to show you mean business at fashion week than in a powerful bit of suiting? Some styled pastel suits with a delicate blouse for an ultimate girl-meets-boy vibe while others wore oversized tailoring with a simple t-shirt or knit. Top tip: finish off the look with some trainers for ultimate comfort.

SPORTSWEAR

Being a trend favourite here at Rokit, we were thrilled to see sportswear continuing to make an appearance on the streets of London this fashion week. We love how this girl has layered an 80s Umbro England jacket over a floral blouse and a striped turtleneck for a cool clash of colours and prints. Alternatively, make sportswear sexy by unpopping some track trousers and pairing them with some block heels and fishnet socks. Pret coffee cup optional.

tonal blocking

TONAL BLOCKING

For the more daring fashion week goers, tonal blocking was their style of choice. The colour red is still having its moment with one street style photographer matching her cap with a red faux fur coat and one show attendee rocking head to toe red. We love how wearable a full-on navy look is and the great thing about this trend is that you can really inject your personal style into it and totally make it your own.

TRENCH COATS

Thanks to British heritage brands like Burberry, trench coats are an absolute staple at London Fashion Week. Opt for a muted hue, like khaki or beige, to maximise styling options. Keep things simple with a black turtleneck and grey wool trousers or colour clash with a bright pink top.
