Q&A with Benedict Benjamin at Green Man Festival 2015
We had a chat with Benedict Benjamin, folk-country-rock-50s style musician who has just finished his debut album! Definitely one to watch out for once it's released...
What about Green Man appealed to you as an artist, Benedict?
I've played there a couple times before and it's just a brilliant line up of bands in one of the most beautiful places in the world. When you're looking at the main stage you can see mountains behind it, it's incredible.
So when you're on stage, what is your favourite thing to see in the audience?
I'd have to say people.
Yep, people always help!
If you had to listen to one artist for the rest of your life, who would it be?
I'd struggle I think, I'm the type of person that needs to hear new music all the time otherwise I get unhappy. But if I had to choose one artist/band I'd choose someone like Serge Gainsbourg or Leonard Cohen, someone whose back catalog is so big and multi dimensional that I'd always find something new to discover.
We'd love to know, what's the last item of clothing you purchased?
I bought a nice old patterned shirt last time I was in Manchester
Aaaand finally, rock 'n' roll or 80s punk?!
Rock 'n' roll
